Pittsfield ready to "Get Outdoors"

Pittsfield Mayor Daniel Bianchi will usher in the city’s first participation in “National Get Outdoors Day”, this Saturday, June 8th.

The mayor will be among those addressing the crowd at 12:30pm in Springside Park.

Also at the park will be 25 outdoor activities, and ten musical performance acts.

The entire event runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Alice's Restaurant walk helps fight disease

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (AP) - About 130 people have retraced Arlo Guthrie's journey immortalized in the song "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" to raise money and awareness for Huntington's disease.

The six-mile "Guthrie Historic Garbage Trail Walk" now in its 13th year, runs from the former Alice's Restaurant in Stockbridge to the Guthrie Center in Great Barrington.

On Tuesday, April 9, Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops around the world will host the 34th annual Free Cone Day.

The Annual event is a ‘thank-you’ to fans.

The event also and celebrates the introduction of three new Greek frozen yogurt flavors.

Pop-up shop and clothing sale

STOCKBRIDGE – Berkshire Creatie and The Red Lion Inn will be hosting a pop-up shop and clothing sale on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.

All proceeds will benefit the programs of Berkshire Creative Economy Council including Spark! networking events, Business Resource Meetings and CreativeNext.

Tickets to the preview party, held on Friday, May 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. are $25. Early VIP access is $100 and runs from 5:30- 6:30 p.m.

Aziz Ansari comes to The Palace

 

ALBANY – On Tuesday, May 14, comedian Aziz Ansari will bring his special brand of comedy to The Palace Theatre.

Ansari currently co-stars on the hit, Emmy nominated NBC comedy Parks and Recreation. He has released his second comedy special and been named the Funniest Man under 30 by Rolling Stone as well as one of the Top 10 Comedians of the Decade by Paste Magazine.

Tickets are $27 and $32 and are available at the Palace Box Office or by calling 1800-745-3000.

Price Copper is hosting a Passover Open House on March 3. Following is more information:

Price Chopper Supermarkets will be hosting a Passover Open House to highlight the more than 1,000 Kosher for Passover products available, provide samples from a wide variety of Kosher for Passover products and to get cooking tips from kosher catering experts. 

Passover begins the evening of March 25 this year.

In addition, for the first time, As You Like It catering will be baking – under VAAD supervision – freshly made Kosher for Passover cookies and dessert treats. 

Preorders for the cookies will be taken through March 17.

Women in Business Luncheon

PITTSFIELD – On Wednesday, December 5, the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce will host the 9th Annual Women in Business Luncheon.

The keynote speaker for the evening will be Julianne Boyd, artistic director and co-founder of the Barrington Stage Company.

This event is open to the public. Tickets are $35 for chamber members and $45 for non-members.
