Over 200 flag stands stolen from Pittsfield cemetery | News

PITTSIFIELD, Mass. - Someone has been stealing solid brass flag holders from veterans graves at a Pittsfield cemetery and the thefts may have been going on for a while.

More than 200 of the flag stands have disappeared from St. Joseph's Cemetery. According to the Berkshire Eagle, officials at the cemetery were alerted by police last weekend.

Some of them may have turned up at a scrap metal yard. The majority of the stolen flag stands were from the graves of world war one and two veterans.
